Stung Treng
Cambodia-Laos border province
Stung Treng is located in northeastern Cambodia, about 418km from the north of Phnom Penh. It borders Laos and 80% of population speak Lao language. There are four rivers, most of the land is covered with deep forest, and there are abundant forest resources such as timber. In 2009, a bridge was completed on Mekong River, which connects to the Lao border with the support from China, and is drawing attention as part of Asian Highway. An eco-tourism project will be held, where you can enjoy playing in the water, bathing in the forest, fishing, camping, observing freshwater dolphins and homestay. The facility in the forest are well managed and you also can meet wild animals while taking a walk.
