Famous as a production area for fragrant pepper
Kamport is located between Sihanoukville and the Vietnam border, about 110km from the east of Sihanoukville and about 3 hours by car from Phnom Penh. The remaining beaches face the Gulf of Thailand and, the city is spread out along the Kompong Bai River. In the centered around the rotary where the statue of Durian stands, there are collection of hotels, fashionable cafes, restaurants, markets, bank, etc. and, are well integrated the modern part with the Cambodia’s traditional style. Bokor Mountain in Kampot is ideal for trekking, with a casino hotel on the top. It is also famous as the world’s finest pepper producing area. An international port, which was located in the economic corridor of Southern Cambodia, has been constructed and is expected to connect Kampot province with the rest of the world.
