Kampong Cham

A city of lush river trade
Kampong Cham is about 124km from northeast of Phnom Penh, and about 3 hours by car. It blessed with fertile soil created by the large Mekong River and is a rich place where many crops are produced. River trade has been active since ancient times, and you can see large and small wooden boats coming and going with a pile of goods one after another from early in the morning. The riverside of the Mekong River is especially fashionable, as it is a beautiful city where you can see the splendid Western style building built during French colony. The Kizuna Bridge, which was built there in 2001 with the assistance of Japan, is a proof of friendship between Japan and Cambodia.
