Siem Reap is a province, which locate on the north side of Tonle Sap Lake, about 250km from the northwest of Phnom Penh and about 45 minutes by plane. It is a place, where the king from Angkor era built to impress their power, and well-known with the historical ruin like Angkor Wat and Beng Mealea, which was said to be a model for Castel in the sky by Raputa. Population growth is remarkable even in Cambodia, and the city is also famous with marine products, which is sought on both sides of the Siem Reap River. As for the central part of the city, Old Market and Pub Street are the most famous and crowd with people form morning until late at night. Hotels and restaurants are being constructed and renovated year by year, and the appearance of the city is changing rapidly. A step away from the central of the city, there are beautiful rice fields and mysteriously deep green forest. The construction of the new Siem Reap Angkor International Airport, which was 50km from the old Siem Reap Airport, has begun in March 2020, and is scheduled to be completed by 2023.
