Khan Sen Sok
Area with the second AEON MALL store where infrastructure development is progressing
Khan Sen Sok is the northwestern area of central Phnom Penh, neighboring to Khan Toul Kok where the second AEON MALL store was opened in 2018. With the rapid development of housing and infrastructure over the last 10 years or more, the speed of complex housing and commercial development is remarkable. Throughout Phnom Penh, there are about 180 gated communities developed (a method of creating a town with a gate and a fence to ensure safety and prevent insecurity), and about a quarter of them are being developed here in Khan Sen Sok. Modern and huge malls, boreys (detached apartment) and schools were developed one after another, and Cambodian Department of Planning, Department of Health, Department of Industry and Social Affairs and the National Bank have moved their offices to Sen Sok. There also Japanese school in this area. It is a very attractive area due to its well-developed transportation network and easy access to central Phnom Penh. According to the 2019 Cambodian census, the total population of Khan Sen Sok was 182,903 and the land size is 53.8 km2.
